Frozen Shoulder Syndrome (FSS) is a condition that usually attacks individuals aging 40-70 years. It is characterized by swollen shoulder joints that limit the movement and produce pain. The symptoms for FSS are divided into three parts: The painful stage when episodes of extreme pain are felt, the frozen stage when the shoulder becomes numb, and finally, the thawing stage that subdues the pain but shoulder movements are reduced or limited. Types of frozen shoulder relief modalities are accessible, although one can choose to not treat it as it heals by itself-but it could take a year, or even a couple to fully diminish it. Exercises are usually recommended for prevention, and here are some examples that can prevent and possibly heal FSS:

• For flexion, stand upright while holding a stick on both palms and gently lift it, avoiding the elbows to bend then return to starting position and repeat ten times.

• Hold the stick behind the head just so the elbows will touch the top of your head then gently lift the stick up and down. Remember to breathe before returning to the starting position and repeat ten times. This type is for proper extension.

• For stretching, stand in front of a flat wall and lean the arms forward just right above the level of the head. Lean forward until a tight feeling is present at the shoulders. Return to starting position and repeat ten times.

• Use the injured arm to hold the stick and place it behind the back and above the head just so the tip of the elbow will touch the head. While the other hand is on the waist, lift the stick up and then breathe before returning to the starting position. This frozen shoulder relief exercise is done to improve rotating motions.

• The finger walk is an effective FSS exercise technique by allowing the patients to crawl the tip of the fingers up against a wall without moving the shoulders. It improves agility and generally gives "active stretching".

• With the help of a therapist, submit the affected shoulder, making a 90 degree angle. The therapist will trigger points in the shoulder and will put various amounts of pressure to the joint using the palm.

Aside from these exercises, Far Infrared Ray (FIR) heat therapy is a kind of a noninvasive frozen shoulder relief that provides pain relief and convenience like no other. Through the use of a lightweight therapy wrap, the therapeutic heat can reach and mend the damaged shoulder muscle and joints, as well as improve the blood circulation to give each patient a cardiovascular boost. This type of treatment will go hand in hand with the simple exercises mentioned above for a stronger immunity and treatment against FSS.
